EL HOSPITAL DE LA MISERICORDIA (VULGO DE SAN JUAN DE DIOS). UN ANÁLISIS DESDE SUS ORÍGENES HASTA FINALES DEL SIGLO XIX

Resumen

En el presente artículo analizaremos la institución hospitalaria más antigua de Cádiz, el Hospital de la Misericordia (Vulgo San Juan de Dios), decano de los hospitales gaditanos. Estudiaremos la historia de este nosocomio desde sus orígenes hasta finales del siglo XIX. Para este trabajo se realizó una revisión bibliográfica, analizando las bases de datos CUIDEN y DIALNET, revisando bibliografía. Se incluyeron todos aquellos documentos que abarcasen la historia del nosocomio gaditano desde sus orígenes hasta el siglo XX. Se excluyeron aquellos artículos que no hacían alusión al Hospital de San Juan de Dios.

Abstract
In this article we will analyze the oldest hospital institution in Cádiz, the Hospital de la Misericordia (Vulgo San Juan de Dios), dean of Cadiz hospitals. We will study the history of this hospital from its origins to the end of the 19th century. For this work, a bibliographic review was carried out, analyzing the CUIDEN and DIALNET databases, reviewing the bibliography. All those documents that covered the history of the Cadiz hospital from its origins to the 20th century were included. Those articles that did not refer to the Hospital de San Juan de Dios were excluded.
